20 THE M'KRAAN CRYSTAL. With all the trinkets and magical doodads in the Marvel Universe, it’s easy to overlook the artifacts that aren’t known for offensive capabilities. Even so, most objects of power are not to be taken lightly and generally should be avoided at all cost. Such is the case with the M’Kraan Crystal. Nov 5, 2021. #10. While it's certainly not the most powerful sci-fi sniper rifle out there, the Positron Sniper Rifle from Neon Genesis Evangelion (TV and Rebuilds) is probably my favourite. Originally developed by the Japan Strategic Self Defense Force (the successor to the JSDF), it is subsequently requisitioned by NERV and used in Operation

HAL 9000. Photo: 2001: A Space Odyssey / Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. HAL was an artificial intelligence in a sci-fi movie, meaning he was an incredibly powerful and clever antagonist. After HAL realized the astronauts aboard his ship were planning to disconnect him, he began taking out members of the ship.

The downstreamers are probably the most advanced group in all of scifi. _hephaestus. • 6 yr. ago. The Photino Birds were more powerful, but as far as I've been able to tell they're not more "advanced", I'm not sure if the were even sentient. There's just more dark matter than baryonic matter in the universe.
Further clarification, since my question was flagged as a duplicate: it is not a purely sci-fi setting, its a sci-fi fantasy, meaning that this particular universe isn't purely centered around highly powerful technologies, but highly powerful technologies with magical properties added, in this particular scenario we are also discarding any sort The most powerful lasers in the world today, the NIF Laser in the US and the Falcon Laser in the UK, are building-sized. We're talking big buildings here, with lots of space taken up by the power supplies and the technology for energising the laser. You say hard sci-fi but then have FTL and artificial gravity which are Clarktech. Furthermore it would already be implausible if you had the most powerful battery we have today as common place in the far future, let alone something already mundane today like NiCd or Lithium batteries, let alone in a future where Clarktech exists. $\endgroup$
Gem weapons have zero gigaton level feats. I'm at 'head-scratching on why you think any of this is close to competing.' I'm not convinced that the entire gem fleet could take on a single 40k cruiser or a stronger Star Wars vessel at this point.
The Jean le Flambeur trilogy, most well known by the first book The Quantum Thief is a soft scifi setting masquerading as a hard scifi setting. In it, FTL travel is impossible so everyone gets around in STL ships. However, their energy levels are ludicrous and their ships are unreasonably fast and powerful. TnHK1lX.
