Re: may users of the 300mm 2.8 IS version 1. I had this lens (EF 300mm f/2.8L IS USM) for years and found the lens to be a fantastic performer. AF is very fast with the bare lens and with the EF 1.4x II, I never had trouble keeping up with fast moving subjects with either setup on the 7d, 7d mk2 and 1dx.
