The Skyactiv-G engine under the hood is very efficient, but it’s a little underpowered for the Mazda 6. What’s awesome about the Skyactiv-G engine is the high-compression ratio. Most naturally aspirated production cars have a compression ratio of 12:1 or less, however, Skyactiv-G engines have a compression ratio of 14:1!
Performance. Mazda still offer more powertrain variants for their D-segment sedan than any other manufacturer. Besides the 2.5-litre SKYACTIV-G petrol engine that we tested here, you can also have your 6 with a 2-litre petrol or 2.2-litre turbo diesel. FYI Mazda sells it with 155bhp since 2020-> Also it was 155bhp earlier on Mazda 6 same engine. I've seen those tuned for 189bhp. Before the 3's were sold as 120bhp they pretty much all put 135-140 in a real world. With exhaust as biggest limiting factor, and with an intake kit I can easily guesstimate +200bhp results from that 2.0 Skyactiv G.
The new Mazda 6 is designed in a specific manner that will give the driver a sophisticated driving pleasure. In Malaysian markets, it is offered with two engine options, which include SkyActiv- G 2.0 L engine and the other one is SkyActiv-G 2.5 L mill. Both engines can develop ample power and torque output.
